Fried Channa Dal with Cheese. August 5th, 2008
Ingredients:
- Channa Dal – 150 grams
- Cheese – 200 grams
- Onions – 100 grams
- Tomatoes – 100 grams
- Cloves – 2
- Garlic
- Bay Leaves – 2
- Red Chilli – 1 (whole)
- Turmeric Powder – 1/4 teaspoon
- Red Chilli Powder – 1/4 teaspoon
- Coriander Leaves
- Salt to Taste
- Water – 250 ml
- Ghee – 100 grams
Method:
- Clean the channa dal and soak it for about 2 hours.
- Wash and peel onions and garlic.
- Grate onions, grind the garlic, chop tomatoes and cut coriander leaves finely.
- Cut cheese into cubes and fry them.
- Heat the ghee and fry the grated onions to a light brown color. Add garlic paste, cinnamon, cardomom cloves, bay leaves, red chilli powder and chopped tomatoes and cook them.
- Add channa dal, salt and trumeric powder and fry for about 7-8 minutes.
- Add water and cook for half an hour.
- Now add cheese cubes into it and simmer for about 2 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve with rice or chappatis.
